A pelvic chair, also known as the Emsella chair, is a medical device that uses electromagnetic technology to stimulate pelvic floor muscles: The chair is used to treat conditions such as: Urinary incontinence, Overactive bladder, Pelvic prolapse, and Vaginal laxity. During a treatment session, the patient sits in the chair and it sends electrical impulses to contract the pelvic floor muscles. A typical session lasts about 30 minutes and is broken up into three phases: awakening, stimulation, and relaxation. Patients may notice improvements after a single session, but it typically takes a few sessions to experience the full benefits.
